Candidate for Mining & Pastoral Region

I am an energetic, focussed, and experienced employee and business owner with over thirty years mechanical experience, in Australia and the United Kingdom, and over Twenty years involvement in the mining and refining industry.

I have also been Owner/Director of my own environmental business. I have enjoyed working through the many facets of my life, giving me a broad knowledge and experience of life and workplaces.

My experiences have given me skills in communication, problem-solving, empathy, understanding, situational awareness and negotiation. Together with key leadership abilities and attributes I have developed in my work experiences as a leading hand, safety resource officer and fire crew member in the mining industry. These key leadership abilities and attributes have since been honed through my environmental business, Oxyjet Australia Pty Ltd.

I am 48 years of age, married to Annette Hatton. I have three children, a 21-year-old son, a 19-year-old daughter, and a 21-year-old step son. I feel very strongly about engaging in the political arena to provide our children with the best possible opportunities and future by creating a self-sustaining and vibrant state to compete on the world stage. I am fully supported in my political ambitions by Annette who is a Primary school teacher.

I enjoy being involved in my local community; I have previously been a Volunteer in the Mandurah Sea rescue and I am currently heavily involved in the Mandurah Kofukan Karate club. This community engagement has driven me to extend my ambitions to assist my community as much as possible.

I feel having the opportunity to represent, in the Western Australian State seat of Mining and Pastoral, is the best way I can influence real change for my community, locally and at the state level. This seat is one of the biggest in the world yet it is largely forgotten, not only at a State level but nationally.

I believe the WAxit movement is the best way to create a positive change for this region and I am honoured that the WAxit Party has endorsed me and provided me with this opportunity.
